Anson Mount is an American actor best known for playing the character of ‘Cullen Bohannon’ in the ‘AMC’ western series ‘Hell on Wheels. One of the first contributing editors to “Playboy” magazine was his father, Anson Adams Mount II.

He co-wrote, directed, and starred in the independent movie Cook County in 2009, which won prizes at numerous prestigious film festivals like Hollywood, AFI Dallas, Nashville, and SXSW.

He was chosen to play Captain Christopher Pike of the Starship Enterprise in the 2018 season of the CBS television series Star Trek: Discovery. Afterward, a popular petition calling for a Pike spin-off series was sparked by his well-received performance. In a few episodes of Star Trek: Short Treks in 2019, he played Pike once more.
