Clarissa Ward is a multi-award-winning American television journalist/anchor and reporter. At the moment, she is working as a chief international correspondent for CNN.

Before joining CNN, she used to work for CBS News, based in London. Prior to that, she was a Moscow-based news correspondent for ABC News programs.

On the other hand, she achieved unparalleled access to Taliban-controlled areas in Afghanistan for an exclusive report called “36 Hours with the Taliban.” She covered the assassination of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi extensively in 2018, including capturing exclusive footage showing a Saudi operator posing as Khashoggi in an attempt to cover up the murder.

Ward traveled to rebel-held regions in Syria in early 2016 to report on life there amid Russian and Syrian airstrikes. She visited Poland, Germany, and France in 2018 to see how they dealt with anti-Semitic incidents and stereotypes. Her reporting has earned her numerous honors. Ward worked for ABC News in Moscow and Beijing for two years. She covered the earthquake and tsunami in Japan in 2011 as well as the worldwide food crisis in 2008. However, she began her media career as an intern in CNN’s Moscow bureau in 2002.
