Luke Bracey Career

Luke’s acting career began in 2009 with the Australian serial series “Home and Away,” which was shown on the “Seven Network.” On February 9, 2009, the audience was introduced to the actor as the character “Trey Palmer.” Back then, Luke’s performance on the show “stirred viewers up” because of his part, which was described as having “the face of an angel” with “devilish behavior.” When Luke portrayed “Trey,” he was only 20 years old. Luke found playing the enigmatic and cunning character to be rather difficult. Trey was only meant to appear on the show for a few months, so his biggest task was to grab the audience’s interest quickly.

After filming for “Home and Away” was finished, Luke relocated to Los Angeles. He portrayed “Aaron” in three episodes of the Australian adolescent drama “Dance Academy” in 2010. After that, he appeared in the 2011 American romantic adventure comedy “Monte Carlo” as “Riley,” an Australian traveler and former rugby player. Luke made an appearance in the 2012 film “American Dream” as “Scott.”

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

The military science-fiction action movie “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” from 2013 featured him as the fictional “Cobra Commander,” the supreme leader of the terrorist group “Cobra,” and the main enemy. This was a huge project for him. Luke took over for Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who had previously played the role in the film.

Luke was chosen in March 2013 to play the title role in the ABC drama pilot “Westside.” It was never broadcast, though. In the 2014 action espionage thriller “The November Man,” which was taken from Bill Granger’s book “There Are No Spies,” he subsequently played a teenage agent named “David Mason.” He portrayed “Brendan Ehrlick” in the comedy “Me Him Her,” which made its world premiere at the “Seattle International Film Festival.” In the love drama “The Best of Me,” which was based on Nicholas Sparks’ book of the same name, Luke portrayed the younger version of James Marsden’s character, “Dawson Cole.” He appeared in the action thriller “Point Break” in 2015 as “Johnny Utah,” an extreme motocross champion turned “FBI” agent. Keanu Reeves performed the role in the first film.

In the film “Hacksaw Ridge,” Luke portrayed Smitty Ryker, an important character who was Desmond Doss’ squadmate and an American pacifist combat medic during World War II (2016). He made an appearance in Roger Avary’s short film “Lucky Day,” which won an “Academy Award,” the following year.

Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan

In the Australian military movie “Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan,” which is based on the Vietnam War battle of Long Tan, Luke will be seen as “Sergeant Bob Buick.” Australia Day, August 8, 2019, is set aside for the film’s release. The next romantic comedy “Holidate” has cast Luke to play the role of “Jackson.”

Luke has worked on a campaign for Ralph Lauren’s opulent Polo Red Extreme fragrance line. He had always wanted to be a fragrance brand model, so getting the chance to do so with a company like “Ralph Lauren” was like a dream come true.
